Freightliner’s Finest Honoured at Awards

Freightliner has celebrated its best performers at its annual Dealer of the Year Awards in Melbourne recently.

Daimler Truck and Bus Managing Director, Daniel Whitehead, and Freightliner Director, Stephen Downes, presented the sought-after 2016 Freightliner Metropolitan Dealer of the Year award to Daimler Trucks Perth Dealer Principal, Simon Ramsay.

The executives also presented the special 2016 Freightliner Rural Dealer of the Year to Mavin Truck Centre Dealer Principal, Dean Mavin.

Mr Whitehead says Daimler Trucks had a strong result in 2016 and Freightliner was a key part of the success.

"A number of key Freightliner models grew their share of the market in 2016 in a tough environment and the hard work of our fantastic dealer network played a major role in that," Mr Whitehead says.

Mr Downes says Daimler Trucks Perth had a fantastic year.

“The team at Daimler Trucks Perth excelled in the sales arena in 2016, but also maintained a concentrated customer focus through all aspects of the business resulting in great customer satisfaction,” he says.

Mr Downes lauded Mavin Truck Centre and its attention on its customers.

“Their reputation for fantastic support and service across all aspects of the business is well known and this has underpinned their excellent performance in 2016,” he says.

Freightliner also announced that Christchurch’s Prestige Commercial Vehicles was the Metro Dealer of the Year Runner Up and Westco Toowoomba is the Rural Dealer of the Year Runner Up for 2016.

The 2016 Freightliner Sales Person of the Year award was presented to Sean Edwards from Daimler Trucks, Perth, who took a lead role in ensuring his dealership exceeded its sales target.

The 2016 Freightliner Parts Manager of the Year award was presented to Jon Bartlett from Dandenong’s Whitehorse Truck Centre. Mr Downes praised his customer dedication and determination to have the right parts on hand.

Mr Downes announced Kelly Henshaw from Trucks and Trailers Auckland was the 2016 Freightliner Service Manager of the Year, for his dedication to outstanding ownership experience.

Mr Downes presented the 2016 Freightliner Rookie of the Year award to Matt Morell from Daimler trucks Melbourne, Somerton, saluting his enthusiasm for growing strong customer relations.
